How to participate
Eligibility
- Open to eligible students representing The Gambia.
- Age, grade level, citizenship, residency, and school requirements will be published for each cycle.
- The process is intended to be nationally inclusive and accessible to students regardless of social status.

Selection criteria
Candidates will be evaluated using criteria published for the active cycle. These may include written problem solving, coding, data analysis, machine learning tasks, interviews, training participation, or a final selection test.
Weightings, thresholds, or advancement rules will be published before each round where applicable.
Results for each stage of the national selection process will be made available in an appropriate format.
The final IOAI team and any reserves will be determined from the published process for the current cycle.
Access
Fees and financial support
Participation is free of charge unless a cycle-specific notice states that a nominal fee is required only to offset direct costs such as accommodation, travel, or competition expenses. No institution or individual should charge fees with the intent to profit from the selection process.
- Any participation, registration, or training-camp fees will be disclosed for each round.
- Fee waivers, scholarships, or financial assistance will be listed when available.
- The selection process should remain accessible to students across the country.
